Chinese Taipei Surf Life Saving Association

The association was founded in 1993 in Chinese Taipei. It is a charitable, non-profit, volunteer based organisation dedicated to saving lives through drowning prevention and water rescue.

It became corresponding member of ILS in 1997.

The association has over 14.660 members in 24 branches, including 22 beach clubs, 12 university and 1 high school surf lifesaving societies.

The main tasks of NCSLSA are:

* preventing drowning by promoting general swimming ability, water rescue and safety in and at waters
* providing leadership training and development for lifesaving and lifeguarding programmes and activities
* helping people to reach high standards of physical fitness, swimming ability and lifesaving skills
* promoting national junior surf lifesaving education (6-15)
* promoting intercollege surf lifesaving sport and competition
* holding national surf lifesaving championships
