The Israeli Association for Bathing, Drowning Prevention and Lifesaving

The Israeli Association for Bathing, Drowning Prevention and Lifesaving (IBDROP), is in Israel officially registered (in the year 2003) not-for-profit organisation.

IBDROP is in the middle of a progress to organise all professional lifeguards in Israel (pool lifeguards and sea lifeguards). In addition to the lifeguard community, there are many coastal and marine scientists interested to become members in IBDROP and we call as well the public to join our association.

Since May 2004 IBDROP has initiated a process to initiated a process at the Israeli high court to change the bathing regulation and we can report a full success of our initiative to oppose the ideas of the government to minimise the number of sea lifeguards along the Mediterranean beaches because of economic reasons.

The vision of IBDROP is that everyone in Israel will have the safe water attitude, skills and behaviour necessary to use and enjoy the water environment safely. Our mission is to prevent death and injury by drowning through Water Safety Management.
