The World Water Safety 2007 Conference and Exhibition (WWS2007) is a global conference, held in Portugal from 27 to 29 September 2007.

The purpose of the WWS2007 Conference and Exhibition is to bring together the world’s foremost experts, systems and information for exchange, debate and further development that will lead to reduction of death and injury in all aquatic environments worldwide, so it is a unique opportunity for entities and enterprises to display their products, services and information.

Scientific Programme

The Scientific programme of the Conference include Plenary Sessions, Presentations, Workshops and Poster Presentations in the following themes:

  • International Organisations in Drowning Prevention
  • Research in lifesaving - developing the plan
  • Expanding youth involvement in lifesaving
  • New and emerging lifesaving organisations
  • World Drowning Report: measuring and estimating the burden
  • Total Life Saving Service Plan
  • Child and adolescent drowning prevention
  • Public water safety communication and information systems
  • Teaching and formation of quality in water safety in Portuguese speaking nations
  • Aquatic specific issues

The ILS Board of Directors has approved the following schedule of Meetings in September 2007 to coincide with the hosting of the World Water Safety 2007 Conference and Exhibition.

These meetings are restricted to delegates of the ILS and are by invitation only.
