The World Conference on Drowning Prevention is a global conference offered by the International Life Saving Federation. This conference (previously known as the WWS) follows on the resounding success of the World Congress on Drowning organised in 2002 in Amsterdam and the ILS International Medical and Rescue Conferences organised in 1997 in San Diego - USA and in 2001 on the Gold Coast - Australia.
2013 World Conference on Drowning Prevention
The ILS Board of Directors resolved at their meeting in Danang, Vietnam during May 2011 to award the 2013 World Conference on Drowning Prevention to the Germany Lifesaving Society - DLRG.
The Conference will be held from 20 to 22 October 2013 in the city of Potsdam, near Berlin in the State of Brandenburg.

ILS Full Member Federations are invited to bid for the rights to host the 2015 World Conference on Drowning Prevention.

The 2011 World Conference on Drowning Prevention was held in Danang, Vietnam during May 2011. The Conference was hosted by the Royal Life Saving Society Australia with support from The Alliance for Safe Children.
