Equipment Register
The ILS Rescue and Education Commission in conjunction with the ILS Europe Region Rescue Commission has developed four equipment registers identifying recommended equipment used by lifesavers and lifeguards in performing their surveillance, prevention and rescue services. This project under the leadership of Ortwin Kreft (Germany) was completed in late 2001.
A fifth Register, Communication Equipment, was investigated by the Commission, however the Rescue and Education Commission determined not to proceed due to the complexity of the equipment, the rapid advances in technology and the differing regulations from Country to Country worldwide.
