World Conference on Drowning Prevention (WCDP) 2023 – Important Updates

The planning for WCDP 2023 in Perth, Australia continues to make excellent progress, and there are some important information updates now available via the WCDP 2023 website for all intending to participate.

  • The Abstract Submission period ended on 28th February with almost 450 submissions made.  More than 1,100 abstract reviews were conducted by a hard working team of independent reviewers.  Decisions have been sent to all those who submitted. All appointed speakers/presenters must now, if they have not already done so, ensure that they register as a delegate by 30th April 2023 to confirm their attendance and acceptance of their presentation role.  Bear in mind that the Early Bird registration rates are only available to 31st March 2023.  Follow the appropriate link below.
  • For delegates from Developing Nations, a scholarship/bursary scheme has been announced and applications are invited for those seeking support to attend.  All applicants must complete the application form and submit it by e-mail to wcdp2023@ilsf.org by the closing date of 22nd April 2023 (note extended deadline).  No late applications will be considered.  We wish to make it clear that the available funding is limited and that making an application is no guarantee that any support will be provided.  For full terms and conditions follow the appropriate link below.
  • Details of the recommended accommodation that is available for the duration of the conference have also now been published. The recommended hotels have provided booking links specifically for WCDP 2023.  Many other hotels are also available, and a number have been included on the Accommodation page.  Delegates and speakers/presenters are free to choose their own accommodation if they wish.  All of the hotels on the list are within easy walking distance of the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. Follow the link below.
  • Before booking flights and hotels, delegates should also consider the full WCDP 2023 programme as known at this point which includes details of various field trips, pre and post conference workshops and masterclasses during the entire period from 1st to 8th December 2023.
