This year Karla Gilbert, Australia’s greatest Ironwoman, celebrated the ending of a fantastic career.

Karla Gilbert reigned the top of Ironwoman racing for more than a decade and finished with countless State, National and World titles to her name.

At the 2003 Australian Championships, her last time competing, she ended her career on beauty by winning the prestigious Oceanwoman event for the last time against the top 16 Ironwomen in the world.

Karla Gilbert might well be the greatest ever Ironwoman Australia has known.
