Royal recognition for St. Lucian Lifesavers

Carol Devaux, the President of St. Lucia Life Saving Association hosted a Cocktail Party on behalf of the Association to thank those who sponsered their Men’s Team, who participated in the World Championships in Italy.

The sponsors had the opportunity to meet with the members of the team, get a first-hand account of their experiences and see pictures taken of them during the different events.

Their Patron, Dame Pearlette Louisy, who is St. Lucia’s Governor General, attended and took the opportunity to present two awards.

Urban Augustine received a “Certificate of Thanks for his dedication and work within the association. He is a qualified lifeguard and lifesaving instructor and trained the lifesaving team that participated in Rescue 2004. This award was presented on behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent, President of the Commonwealth Council for the Royal Lifesaving Society and the St. Lucia Lifesaving Association.
