Swim and Survive website wins

“Swim and Survive”, a water safety education website won the Sport Information Technology category at the Australian Sport Awards.

The Australian Sport Awards are the premier sports awards in Australia. Running for the past 25 years, they are the only sport awards where participants are voted by their peers and are recognised as the national industry awards.

The Swim and Survive website is an interactive resource for kids, parents and teachers aimed at reducing the drowning rate by promoting water safety knowledge in a fun and accessible medium.

On a visit to the website, children can get involved in activities including a Game Zone, Story Machine, On-line colouring in, and Water Safety Tips to involve and educate them about water safety.

The Swim and Survive website also features ongoing competitions where great prizes of PlayStation2 + games and Coca-Cola Active Factor packs are available.

Swim and Survive is a program of Royal Life Saving, Australia’s largest water safety education body.

Swim and Survive, with the support of their program partners Coca-Cola Australia’s Active Factor and PlayStation2, is conducted in 8000 schools and 1000 pools nationally.
