During this ILS Promotion Mission in Vietnam, which was approved by the ILS Asia Pacific Region, Dr. Yeung visited Ho Chi Ming City. There he has met with many senior government officials such as the Vice Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Vietnam, the Director of Sports Department of Ho Chi Ming City, the Chairman and the General Secretary of the Ho Chi Ming City Aquatic Sports Association.

There are over 100 swimming pools in the Ho Chi Ming City and many fine beaches along its east coast. Vietnam officials were very much amazed and interested in the work of ILS. Contacts would be made from that end with a view to forming a national lifesaving association in Vietnam.
