In the end Wild Wadi edged out Le Meridien Mina Seyahi with Shangri-la Abu Dhabi making up the final podium position.

Although the event focused on the physical fitness of the lifeguards it was also an opportunity to highlight the importance of water safety to the pulic and recognise the hard work and commitment that the regions lifeguards have to ensure that the UAE’s pools and beaches are kept safe.

With the event now part of the Sea Dubai watersports festival the Lifeguard Championships will grow from strength and future aspirations of sending a representative team to the world championships as well as integrating junior lifeguards into the showcase event.
