WCDP2015 Conference Announcement and First Call for Abstracts

Join the World’s leading experts in the areas of Drowning Research, Policy and Practice at the World Conference on Drowning Prevention 2015.

The International Life Saving Federation is pleased to announce that the World Conference on Drowning Prevention 2015 will be held in Penang, Malaysia from 4th to 6th November 2015.

The World Conference on Drowning Prevention 2015 will focus world attention on the global burden of drowning, with a specific emphasis on the epidemic of drowning deaths in developing countries.

The WCDP2015 conference themes reflect the challenges of reducing the burden of drowning in the communities, nations, regions of the world.

The themes are:

  • Prevention
  • Data
  • Rescue
  • Disaster
  • Treatment
  • Partnerships

The conference program will comprise a mixture of keynote plenary sessions, concurrent sessions and workshops with opportunities throughout the conference for interaction and discussion.

The organisers of the World Conference on Drowning Prevention 2015 are seeking Abstracts for oral, poster and workshop presentations from a range of sources across the conference themes.

If you, your organisation, institution or agency have been involved in interesting research, policy and/or practice aimed at preventing drowning, we encourage you to submit an abstract and start planning your attendance at this important event.

Abstracts are to be submitted online by 1 February 2015.
