Applications are invited from all Technical Officials who wish to be considered for appointment to officiate at the Lifesaving World Championships – Adelaide 2018, to be held in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia from 15th November to 2nd December, 2018. The Pool Championships will be held at the South Australia Aquatic and Leisure Centre and all Ocean and Beach Championships are held at Glenelg Beach, Adelaide – the same venues as LWC 2012, except for Christies Beach.
If you wish to be considered, please complete the application form through the link below and submit it online to the ILS Sports Commission, by 31st August 2017. All nominations will be forwarded to the Chief Referee appointed for each of the Lifesaving World Championships for which individuals have nominated. The Chief Referees will make the appointments for each Championships. It is anticipated that details of all Technical Officials will be confirmed by the ILS Sport Commission by 15th December 2017.
Note that at most about 70 officials only are usually needed for the National Teams events, and a few more are needed for the Interclub events. It may increase your chances of selection to a position if you are prepared to do more than one Championships, as preference will be given to those who nominate to do more championships.
Some key positions are usually oversubscribed with nominations, so you may not be able to be appointed to your first or second choice position.
