LWC2018: Nominations from Technical Officials now closed

The online application process for Technical Officials to nominate to be considered for appointment at the Lifesaving World Championships Adelaide 2018 has now closed. There were 350 applications. Having checked and removed duplicates there are now 330 applications from 26 countries that will go forward to the appointment process. Member federations will soon be receiving lists of those who have applied from their federation to seek endorsement that their application is valid, they are in good standing, and that they are suitable for the positions for which they have applied.

With one third (110) from women and two thirds (220) from men, the Chief Referees will soon be sent the lists of all applicants for their particular Championships to consider who to appoint. The 330 applicants submitted 1,612 nominations for the 8 Lifesaving World Championships that will be contested in November/December 2018.

The International Lifesaving Federation would like to thank all Technical Officials for submitting their nominations. The response has been the best ever for any Lifesaving World Championships, and the numbers indicate that not all who applied will be able to be selected. All those who are appointed will hopefully be advised by mid-December if they have been successful. Details of the final positions to which an individual has been selected will follow later in 2018, once confirmation has been received that individuals will be taking up their appointment.
