Call for Technical Officials for LWC 2022

The ILS Sport Commission is pleased to issue this request to all those who wish to be appointed as a Technical Official (TO) to officiate at the rescheduled Lifesaving World Championships (LWC) in 2022 in Riccione, Italy.  It has been agreed that all TOs who were previously appointed for the postponed LWC 2020 will be reappointed, but they must complete a new application for LWC 2022.  This new process also gives the opportunity for others who did not or could not apply for 2020 to be considered for appointment in 2022.

The application must be made using the following link to a Google Form: ILS LWC 2022 Technical Officials Application

Only applications submitted using this online form can be accepted.  The closing date for applications is 30 October 2021.  All applicants will be notified by 31 December 2021 if they have been successful.

Applicants should note that at this stage they are not asked to specify a position for which they wish to be appointed, just the Championships in which they wish to officiate.  The allocation of the TOs to detailed positions will be advised by 1 August 2022 once it becomes clear who will be able to attend LWC 2022. It is understood that at this time there is still some uncertainty about what, if any, international travel restrictions to and from various countries will still be in place in 2022.  Applicants should nevertheless apply by the closing date if they intend to participate.

This message will also be promoted today on the ILS Social Media pages. Before any appointments are made, the ILS Sport Commission will seek the endorsement of the applicant’s member federation .

Any enquiries should be addressed to Jelle Meintsma, the ILS Sport Commission Secretary: meintsmaj@gmail.com
