The ILS is very pleased to announce that our President, Mr Graham Ford AO, has been appointed as an Officer (AO) in the General Division of the Order of Australia in the King’s Birthday Honours list for 2023 that has just been published.

This is for his distinguished service to surf lifesaving through leadership roles at the national and international level, and to the community.

Graham has been the President of the ILS since 2012 and continues to take our organisation forward with his strong leadership. He was also President of Surf Life Saving Australia from 2010 to 2021 during that time. Above all Graham takes great pride in continuing to undertake patrols with his club Bronte Surf Life Saving Club where he has been a member since 1989.
