ILS is pleased to advise that, in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code, it has published its 2027 Anti-Doping Rules.
WADA has approved the Rules and they have been formally adopted the ILS Board of Directors.
The new Rules will come into effect on 1 January 2027 and will replace the existing 2021 Rules that will remain in force until 31 December 2026.

The key features of the 2027 Rules include:
- Strengthened anti-doping education requirements and obligations.
- A definition of ILS International Level Athletes.
- A definition of ILS International Level competitions.
- A definition of a “Team” within ILS Sport and the application of penalties for a breach of rules.
- The inclusion of ILS “Testing Pool” information that apply to particular athletes.
- Information relating to Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) procedures and processes.
- Revised results management, sanctions and other penalty provisions.
- Enhanced Rule transparency and independence.
ILS Athletes, Support Personnel and Others, and National Federations covered under the rules are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the new requirements before they take effect.
To better understand the 2027 Code, WADA has also produced eLearning courses for athletes and support personnel. The courses are available in a number of languages on the WADA Anti-Doping Education and Learning platform (ADEL).
