Among them is Annelie Lourens, who will serve as Deputy Referee for the National Teams Pool Competition at Lifesaving World Championships 2026.
Annelie brings extensive knowledge, passion, and a deep love for the sport to this year’s Championships. As she prepares for the event, she reflects on what it means to be part of the world’s biggest lifesaving stage
“I feel humbled and privileged to be part of this event,” Annelie said.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the world’s best athletes competing at the highest level and witnessing the sportsmanship that makes lifesaving so special.
“Bringing the global lifesaving community together is what makes these Championships unique,” she said.
Annaelie’s word of advice for competitors is simple: savor the moment.
“Enjoy every moment, support your team, take it all in, and enjoy being part of such a special event. I can’t wait for that first moment when everything comes together.”
