The International Life Saving Federation (ILS) is pleased to announce that the World Conference on Drowning Prevention (WCDP) 2027 will be held in Rome, Italy, from 26-28 November 2027.
Held every two years, the World Conference on Drowning Prevention is the leading global forum for researchers, practitioners, policymakers and advocates working to reduce drowning and improve water safety around the world.
WCDP 2027 follows the highly successful 2025 conference in Egypt, which brought together more than 500 delegates from 55 countries to share research, best practice and innovative approaches to drowning prevention, with a strong focus on community engagement and cross-sector collaboration.
We are excited to welcome the global drowning prevention community to the beautiful and historic city of Rome. With its rich cultural heritage and international appeal, Rome provides an inspiring setting for meaningful discussions and partnerships that can help save lives worldwide.
The conference will be hosted by FIN – Sezione Salvamento, the lifesaving section of Federazione Italiana Nuoto (FIN), and we look forward to working closely with our Italian colleagues to deliver another outstanding event.
More information on the conference, including registration details, programme updates and accommodation information, will be available in the coming weeks.
For now, mark your calendars and join us in Rome from 26-28 November 2027 for the next World Conference on Drowning Prevention.
