Rescue 2012

After announcing that the 2012 Lifesaving World Championships (Rescue 2012) will be held in Adelaide, South Australia, Surf Life Saving Australia released the dates for the 2012 event.Rescue 2012 will be held across three venues in Adelaide including Christies Beach, Glenelg Beach and the state-of-the-art Aquatic Centre at Marion from 4 to18 November 2012.Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) put forward the successful submission submitted by Events South Australia on behalf of the South Australian Government and Surf Life Saving South Australia to the International Life Saving (ILS) Federation which was approved in 2008.The Chairman of Rescue 2012 said “We are very excited to announce the dates for Rescue 2012. Adelaide will provide a great location to showcase the best lifesaving athletes in the world and host a world-class sporting event.”The Lifesaving World Championships are the largest international lifesaving sport competition in the world and is likely to attract more than 4,000 competitors and officials plus thousands of spectators.
