The 28th All-Women Lifeguard Tournament is set for Wednesday, 25 July 2012. It is presented by the National Park Service of the U.S. Department of the Interior.It will take place at Sandy Hook, in New Jersey about 72 kilometres from Newark International Airport, in the metropolitan New York City area.It is the oldest and largest tournament of its kind in the United States of America exclusively for women lifeguards.It is an inter-club competition. It is open to any woman working as a lifeguard whether on a paid or volunteer basis at an oceanfront, river, bay, lake, or pool.The meet’s purpose is to showcase the high level of fitness and skill women bring to lifeguard work, and to encourage others to consider becoming lifeguards.For more details, please contact carl_martinez@nps.gov.
