Our vision

The ILS Lifesaving Academy aims to strengthen the professionalism of lifesavers working in aquatic and water-recreation environments around the world.

Our purpose

The Academy makes the expertise available within ILS accessible to people both inside and outside the ILS network. Through education and professional development, it supports improved water safety and drowning prevention across all aquatic environments.

Governance and alignment

Established in 2022, the Academy reports to the ILS Board of Directors. Its policies, plans and projects are coordinated with the relevant ILS Commissions and Committees to ensure that its work supports the wider objectives of the International Life Saving Federation.
