Drowning Prevention Officer Programme
The ILS Lifesaving Academy is developing a professional curriculum for drowning prevention officers.
The programme is intended to prepare lifesavers to contribute to water-safety initiatives in their local or national area. A suitably trained drowning prevention officer could play an important role in helping authorities implement and maintain national drowning-prevention policies informed by World Health Organization guidance.
This is a longer-term Academy project. Further development and implementation are planned beyond 2027.
