Pool lifesaving debuts at Australian Masters Games

Pool Lifesaving will make its debut as one of 60 sports contested at the 10th Australian Masters Games.

Held in Adelaide, the 10th Australian Masters games will see over 10,000 people converge to participate in 60 sports contested at 90 venues.

In its first year as a Masters Games sport, there will be seven pool lifesaving events contested at the Games. These events are: 100m Swimming with Obstacles, 4 x 50m Obstacle Relay, 50m Saving a Manikin, 100m Saving a Manikin with Fins, 100m Saving a Manikin with Fins and Rescue Tube, 4 x 50m Rescue Tube Relay and the Line Throw event.

The Pool Lifesaving events will see people aged from 25 years to 65+ years compete in five age categories.

The 10th Australian Masters Games are held in Adelaide from October 7-16, 2005. The Pool Lifesaving events are contested at the Adelaide Aquatic Centre on October 10 and 11.
