ILS Women’s Network Celebrates International Women’s Day – 8 March

The ILS Women’s Network celebrates International Women’s Day on 8 March with the announcement of key initiatives to be unveiled during the ILS World Conference on Drowning Prevention in Vietnam this coming May.

The ILS Women’s Network will welcome its 50th member at the network breakfast to be held at the Furama Resort, Danang on Friday 13 May. “Building the ILS Women’s Network to 50 in just six months is a great start”, says ILS Equity and Diversity Committee chair, Rob Bradley. “There has been enormous enthusiasm for the network and there are some exciting plans ahead.”

The ILS Women’s Network breakfast on 13 May will feature a presentation from Vi Petersen co-founder of The Alliance for Safe Children (TASC). Vi is an inspirational person having achieved great success in the corporate, government and humanitarian spheres. In May 2002 Vi and her husband co-founded TASC, a global child injury prevention foundation whose mission is to reduce the epidemic of child death and disability resulting from preventable injuries in developing countries. Before devoting her considerable energies to child health and survival in Asia Vi held senior executive positions with ANZ bank and was Australian Senior Trade Commissioner to Vietnam from 1996-99.
