Haitian Swimming and Life Saving Federation
In Haiti people live on an in Island where ¾ of our land is covered with water. Only few people know how to swim. In 1994, a group of concerned citizens of Haiti under the umbrella of Haitian Olympic Committee have founded the Association Haitienne de Natation et de Sauvetage (ASHANASA).
The purpose of the Association is to save lives and promote Swimming in Haiti. We strongly believe in the Roberto Clemente quote “If you have a chance to help others and fail to do so, you are wasting your time on this earth.”
Following our Congress Meeting of 2014, every single member has voted unanimously to change the name “Association Haitienne de Natation et de Sauvetage (ASHANASA)” to “Fédération Haïtienne des Sports Aquatiques et de Sauvetage (FHSAS)”.
