Rescue 2006 successful

In conjunction with the competitions the ILS Board, Commissions and Committtees held their meetings in Geelong where it wal also decided that Rescue 2008 will be held in Germany. In the National Teams competitions Australia won the overall classification with 770 points, followed by New Zealand and South Africa. Italy took the fourth place and also won the overall pool classification. Three new World records were broken in the National Teams Championship. Sarah McLarty from the United States took more than a second of the previous record on the 200m Swimming with Obstacles in a new record time of 2’10”34. The other two records were set during the mens relay events. The German team was able to break the five year old record from the Belgian team with a time of 1’41”50 on the 4x50m Obstacle Relay. Team USA took the gold and broke the record in a time of 1’33”01. During the Masters competition, Surf Boats competition, IRB Competition and Interclub Competitions some memorable performances were done.
