From the 13th until the 17th of May 2009, the Philippine Life Saving hosted the 1st Philippine Lifesaving Festival (PLF) 2009 in Boracay Island, Aklan.

The Philippine Lifesaving Festival (PLF) 2009 is a multi-activity water based sports event in the Philippines, conceptualized as a yearly event in Boracay to promote Water Safety Awareness to Beach goers and Resort owners. It is also dubbed as The Great Titan 2009 in order to promote participation in Life Saving Sports in the country.
