New members join the ILS family

During the recent meetings of the ILS Board of Directors held in Glenelg, Adelaide, Australia in November 2018, many new member federations were accepted into the ILS family as new members in various categories on 21st November 2018:

Full Members

  • San Marino: The San Marino Swimming Federation became a Full Member of the ILS
  • Guinea Bissau: The Guinea Bissau Water Rescue Association became a Full Member of the ILS on 21st November 2018
  • Senegal: The Senegalese Swimming and Lifesaving Federation became a Full Member of the ILS on 21st November 2018
  • Central African Republic: The Central African Lifesaving Federation became a Full Member of the ILS
  • Gambia: The Gambia Swimming and Aquatic Sports Association had their membership upgraded from Corresponding Member to Full Member of the ILS
  • Morocco: Following a formal name change, the Royal Moroccan Lifesaving Federation became a Full Member of the ILS
  • Rwanda: The Rwanda Lifesaving Federation became a Full Member of the ILS
  • Burkina Faso: The Lifesaving Federation of Burkina Faso became a Full Member of the ILS
  • Mauritania: The Mauritania Association of Diving and Rescue became a Full Member of the ILS
  • Somalia: The Somalian Lifesaving Federation had their membership upgraded from Corresponding Member to Full Member of the ILS
  • Mexico: The Mexican Federation of Rescue and Aquatic Lifesaving became a Full Member of the ILS
  • Cook Islands: The Cook Islands Water Safety and Surf Lifesaving Council Inc became a Full Member of the ILS
  • Cameroon: Following the resignation of the former Full Member (RLSS Cameroon Branch), the Cameroon Swimming and Lifesaving Federation became a Full Member of the ILS
  • Mali: The Mali Federation of Aquatic Rescue became a Full Member of the ILS
  • Libya: The Libyan Lifesaving Federation became a Full Member of the ILS

Associate Members

  • India: The Lifesaving Society of India became an Associate Member of the ILS
  • Germany: The Arbeiter-Samartier-Bund Deutschland (Workers Samaritan Union of Germany) became an Associate Member of the ILS
  • Denmark: The Danish Council for Greater Water Safety became an Associate Member of the ILS

Corresponding Members

  • Romania: The Professional Association of Lifeguards in Romania became a Corresponding Member of the ILS
  • Ukraine: The Beach Patrol of Ukraine became a Corresponding Member of the ILS
  • Denmark, the Faroe Islands: As the Faroe Islands are a part of Denmark, the Faroer Swimming Association, became a Corresponding Member of the ILS

The ILS welcomes all new members. As a result of their joining, the ILS family has now grown to 166 federations
