ILS President visits Canada

Following the very successful Rescue 2002 series at Daytona Beach, and on invitation from Joan Duncan and Doug Ferguson, our President undertook a tour in Canada to meet the executive professional staff and the many volunteers who make up the Lifesaving Society of Canada.

Among many others, the President met with Vicki Hemming, President of Ontario Branch, Bob Clark past President, Pat Kitchen, Ed and Debbie Bean, Jim and Barbara Byers, and Doug and Wendy Ferguson.

He also met Daniel Rebube and Steve Box, coaches of the successful Canadian team in Daytona. Some very worthwhile discussions took place, both on Life Saving and suggestions for future competitions.

ILS can be very proud of the Lifesaving Society of Canada. They are a dynamic, very well run and determined organisation with excellent leaders, good facilities and a great willingness to make continual improvement.

The President reports that he learned much about Canadian lifesaving and the warmth of Canadians.
