Chief Referee and Deputy Chief Referee nomination form for LWC 2018

Applications are invited from experienced and suitably qualified persons, who wish to be considered for appointment to one or more position of Chief Referee and/or Deputy Chief Referee at the Lifesaving World Championships – Adelaide 2018, to be held in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia from 15th November to 2nd December, 2018.
The Pool Championships will be held at the South Australia Aquatic Centre and all Ocean and Beach Championships are held at Glenelg Beach, Adelaide – the same venues as LWC 2012.

If you wish to be considered, please complete the attached application form and submit it to the ILS Sports Commission, by 15th June 2017. Please note that no late applications will be considered. All applications received will be acknowledged automatically by email.

Appointments will be made by the ILS Sport Commission by the end of June 2017. All applicants will be advised by mid-July, 2017 whether they have been successful or not.

All briefings are usually scheduled the day before the championships. The Chief Referees briefing with the ILS Sport Commission is set for 15th November at 12.00.

Applicants for the position of Chief Referee and Deputy Chief Referee should have strong leadership and interpersonal people skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities at a National and/or an International level of Lifesaving Competition coupled with extensive relevant Refereeing experience of not less than 5 years as well as a demonstrated successful track record of exposure to Senior Roles at a National and/or International Lifesaving Competition. The minimum requirement in terms of qualification is that the candidate should have at least a qualification of Chief Referee or equivalent (e.g. Level 3) in his/her Lifesaving Federation and have been qualified with such qualification for at least 5 years.
